August 13, 17, 19, 21, 2010, Lebanon, NH: Jo Ellen will sing the role of
Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni at Opera North, where she sang the role of
Micaela in Carmen last summer.
October 29, 31, 2010: Jo Ellen will sing the role of Gretel in Hansel and
Gretel with Fargo-Moorehead Opera, North Dakota.
January 30, 2010: Jo Ellen will sing the soprano solo in Lukas Foss' Time
Cycle at Carnegie Hall with the Met Chamber Ensemble, conducted by James
Levine.
March 4, 5, 2011: Jo Ellen will be featured as the soprano soloist in
Mahler's 4th Symphony, under the baton of world-renowned conductor
Jonathan Schiffman, with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in Texas.
Recent
June 2010, New York: Jo Ellen sang the soprano solo in Beethoven's 9th
Symphony at Carnegie Hall with the World Civic Orchestra.
April 28, 2010, New York: Jo Ellen premiered a song cycle by composer
John Aylward with ECCE, or East Coast Composers' Ensemble. Mr. Aylward
wrote a song cycle for Jo Ellen with poetry by Louise Gluck. She recorded
the cycle for Albany Records, and is expecting a December 2010 release.
February 6, 2010: Jo Ellen sang the soprano solo in Mozart's Requiem with
Dartmouth College Glee Club, Hanover, NH, conducted by Maestro Louis
Burkot.
December 6, 2009: Jo Ellen sang the Pierre Boulez chamber work
Improvisation sur Mallarme I and II at Carnegie Hall in NYC, with the Met
Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Metropolitan Opera Music Director James
Levine.
October-December, 2009: Jo Ellen covered the role of Mimi in La Boheme
as part of Virginia Opera's Spectrum Resident Artist Program. She also
participated in the company's outreach tour starring as The Beanstalk in
Joseph Walsh's Giovanni and the Beanstalk.
August 2009: Jo Ellen sang the role of Micaela in Carmen at Opera North in
Lebanon, NH.
June 2009: Jo Ellen sang the soprano solo in Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate led
by Wayne Arndt. The concert was to benefit the Music Society of Grace
Church in Newark.
March 2009: Jo Ellen was heard singing Elliott Carter's A Mirror on Which to
Dwell with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, led by Pierre Boulez.
Jan.-Mar. 2009: Jo Ellen was a Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera. She
sang Giannetta in L'Elisir d'amore and Voix du Ciel in Don Carlos.
December 2008: Jo Ellen sang Charles Wuorinen's A Winter's Tale at the
Library of Congress in Washington, DC. The 25-minute chamber piece was
conducted by Wuorinen himself.
August 2008: She sang the role of Juliette in Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble's
Romeo et Juliette, conducted by Christopher Fecteau.
July 2008: Jo Ellen sang the soprano solo in Elliott Carter's A Mirror on
Which to Dwell at Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, MA. The concert
featured members of the Tanglewood Orchestra, and was conducted by
Maestro Jeffrey Milarsky.
